Project Details

Brief Background

The PWD Portal, launched by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, is an integrated web and mobile application designed to enhance road infrastructure management, streamline pothole complaint resolution, and improve departmental coordination. The mobile app enables citizens to register and track pothole complaints using geolocation, while officers manage and resolve issues efficiently through role-based access. The system utilizes GIS mapping for road assignments and updates, ensuring accurate jurisdiction handling. With robust MIS reporting, it promotes transparency and accountability, facilitating data-driven decision-making for the overall development of the state's road infrastructure

Objective

Objective: Designed to streamline reporting and resolution of potholes for safer roads across Madhya Pradesh. Mobile and Web App Integration: Available on both mobile and web platforms, the system allows citizens to report potholes in real-time using geolocation through mobile app. Efficient Complaint Resolution: PWD officers receive, track, and address complaints promptly, ensuring faster repairs and better road maintenance. Transparency and Accountability: The system provides real-time status updates, promoting transparency in complaint handling and repairs. Geospatial Mapping: Uses GPS for accurate pothole location, enabling quick identification and resolution by maintenance teams. Performance Tracking: Tracks complaint resolution metrics, helping improve road maintenance strategies across the state

Benefits

Streamlined Complaint Process: Simplifies pothole complaint registration with geolocation and photo capture via the mobile app. Efficient Tracking: Citizens can easily track complaint status and receive updates on escalation and resolution. Enhanced Transparency: Provides visibility into complaint resolution progress, ensuring accountability at all levels. Quick Response: Department users receive real-time notifications for prompt resolution of complaints. Optimized Road Management: GIS integration allows efficient road management by assigning officers and updating PWD jurisdiction in real time. Data-Driven Decisions: Role-based MIS reports provide relevant insights for informed decision-making and improved infrastructure planning.

Implementation Methodology

Mobile App Deployment: The mobile app serves as a primary tool for citizens and department users to register pothole complaints, track progress, and resolve issues. Citizens submit complaints with location and images, while department officers receive notifications and can update the status directly through the app. Web App Integration: The web app is used for administrative tasks, role-based access, and generating MIS reports for higher management. Provides a comprehensive view of complaints, officer assignments, and district-wide infrastructure issues for better decision-making. Mobile and Web App Synchronization: Real-time synchronization between mobile and web apps ensures seamless data flow. Complaints registered via mobile apps are automatically updated in the web app, allowing for efficient tracking, report generation, and resolution. GIS-Based Road Management: GIS integration helps in assigning, detaching, or updating roads under PWD jurisdiction in both apps. This feature enhances coordination between mobile and web apps by updating geographical data instantly across both platforms.
