Asset Mapping and Monitoring through a mobile application. It is a form-based mobile app is ideal for conducting government Asset Mapping and field surveys. It leverages GPS and GIS functionalities, enabling users to capture data including text, live videos, live photos and latitude & longitude on their mobile devices, either online or offline. Initially designed for Government Department Officials, the app allows for instant transmission of survey data, which is integrated into a web-portal for real-time data syncing, monitoring, report generation and decision-making by decision-makers.

Project Details

Brief Background

This mobile app facilitates government asset mapping and field surveys. It leverages GPS and GIS to capture data like text, live videos, photos, and GPS coordinates, usable online or offline. Designed for government departments.
- Total 10 different modules are already developed in GAM.
- The department’s field officer can easily be registered and start a survey or Inspection (Once validated by the nodal officer).

Objective

The objective of the GAM project is to develop a mobile and web application for Government Asset Mapping, aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of field data collection. Specifically, the project seeks to:
- Streamline Asset Mapping: Provide government department officials with a user-friendly, form-based mobile app to conduct comprehensive field surveys, capturing text, videos, and photos with integrated GPS and GIS capabilities.
- Facilitate Real-Time Data Monitoring: Ensure the instant transmission of survey data to a centralized geoportal, allowing decision-makers to monitor assets in real-time for faster, data-driven decisions.
- Enhance Operational Efficiency: Reduce manual data entry and streamline workflows in the field, improving the speed and accuracy of data collection and reducing administrative burdens.
- Support Offline Functionality: Enable data collection in areas without internet access by providing offline capabilities, with seamless data syncing when internet connectivity is restored.
- Improve Asset Management: Provide government authorities with a powerful tool for tracking, managing, and maintaining assets more effectively, supporting better resource allocation and public service delivery.

Benefits

Benefits of the GAM:
- GIS enabled government asset mapping and points visible on geoportal.
- The app streamlines the process of collecting asset data, allowing government officials to quickly gather information using their mobile devices, reducing time spent on manual processes.
- Instant data transmission to a centralized geoportal enables decision-makers to monitor assets in real-time, facilitating quicker, informed decision-making based on up-to-date information.
- The app supports both online and offline data collection, ensuring that users can capture essential information in remote areas without internet access. Data can sync automatically when connectivity is restored.
- Users can collect various types of data, including text, videos, and photos, providing a richer context for asset information, which aids in thorough analysis and reporting.

Implementation Methodology

GAM Asset mapping and Survey forms are enabled with workflow:
- The department’s Field Officers should first register themself in GAM mobile application.
- The Nodal Officer validates the mobile users via web portal.
- The department’s Field Officer conducts a survey or Inspection on GAM mobile application.
- The Nodal Officer review the Asset mapping and surveys and download reports.
- GAM also enables the customization of forms and develop multiple modules, which are initiated by the respective department.
- GIS-enabled multi-purpose forms and modules can be created as per the department’s requirements.
- Versatile solution designed for both Mobile and Web.
