In a landmark decision, Government of J&K has decided to introduce e-office in all the Administrative Departments. IT Department is at the forefront of this effort and has already set targets to meeting the objective. Revamping of Wi-Fi Network at both the civil secretariats, procurement of e-office licenses etc., has already been done for the departments. Besides, robust LAN networking at both the Civil Secretariats, establishment of near Data centre at Srinagar, DR Site in different seismic zone are being actively pursued by IT department to make paperless office in Civil Secretariat, J&K a reality. Capacity building / training programmes for officers & officials of all administrative departments have been started w.e.f 31st March 2021 and it is targeted that Civil Secretariat, J&K shall completely switch over to e-office mode of functioning in April 2021.

Project Details

Brief Background

Key features of the eOffice platform include digital file management, eReceipts, eLeave, eTour, and workflow automation. The platform enables seamless collaboration, document sharing, and tracking of files, leading to faster decision-making and improved service delivery. Additionally, it enhances data security and reduces the environmental footprint associated with traditional paper-based processes.

Objective

The eOffice initiative in Jammu and Kashmir aims to digitize and streamline administrative processes within government offices, thereby promoting efficiency, transparency, and accountability in governance. By leveraging technology, the project seeks to reduce paperwork, expedite decision-making, and enhance the overall productivity of government officials.
 

Benefits

The project primarily benefits government officials and employees across various departments and levels of administration in Jammu and Kashmir. It aims to streamline their workflow, improve communication, and facilitate better coordination for effective governance.
