Brief Background
The Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 was enacted by the Government of India to promote transparency and accountability in the working of public authorities. It empowers citizens to request information from government bodies, making the functioning of public authorities more open and accountable.
While the RTI Act provides a legal framework for citizens to access government information, the process of submitting RTI requests in person was often cumbersome and time-consuming. To address this, the Government of Madhya Pradesh launched the RTI Application Portal, enabling citizens to file RTI applications online and track their status conveniently.

Online Registration: Users register on the RTI Application Portal by providing basic information such as their name, contact details, and identification proof.

Submission of RTI Requests: After logging in, users can fill out the RTI request form, specifying the government department or public authority from which they are seeking information. They can also upload any supporting documents if needed.

Payment of Fees: The portal provides an online payment gateway for citizens to pay the nominal fee required to file an RTI request, as mandated by the RTI Act.

Processing of Requests: Once submitted, the RTI requests are forwarded to the relevant public information officers (PIOs) within the concerned department, who are responsible for providing the requested information.

Real-Time Status Tracking: Applicants can track the progress of their RTI requests in real-time through the portal, ensuring transparency and reducing uncertainty.

Receipt of Information: Once the requested information is compiled, it is sent to the applicant via the portal, either in digital format or as a downloadable document.
