Brief Background

Disaster Management Information System (DMIS) is automated process of providing financial relief assistance to affected farmers from natural calamity. It includes farmer list preparation, paperless approvals & sanctions at various hierarchy and finally DBT’s to all the beneficiaries in their Bank accounts.

Objective

Automation of relief life cycle, such as filling online form, GIS based workflow, sanction generation and DBT’s to Beneficiaries under various relief schemes taken up by DMRD department.

Implementation Methodology

1. Needs Assessment and Planning
Stakeholder Consultation: Engaging with DMRD  department to understand their requirements.
Gap Analysis: Identifying the shortcomings in existing systems, such as the lack of a centralized platform, manual DBT processes, and absence of real-time monitoring.
2. Phased Development Approach
Pilot Implementation: A pilot phase was introduced to test core functionalities, such as DBT processing, application workflows, and integration with existing databases like Jan-Aadhaar.
3. Technical Infrastructure Development
End-to-End Digital Enablement: Full digitization of government schemes, with online DBT.
Security Measures: Implementation of OTP mechanisms for authentication, ensuring data security.
4. Integration with External Systems
Database Integration: Integration with existing state systems like Jan-Aadhaar for identification.
5. Training and Capacity Building
Training Programs: Trainings were conducted for governmental officials and field staff.
6. Monitoring and Evaluation
Performance Dashboards: Creation of real-time dashboards to monitor the progress of the schemes.
