The RTI-Online portal is a web-based platform that enables Indian citizens to file Right to Information (RTI) requests online, promoting transparency and accountability in government institutions. The system facilitates seamless interaction between applicants and public authorities by digitizing the entire RTI process, from submission to tracking and appeals.

Project Details

Brief Background

The Supreme Court held that in Indian democracy people are the masters and they have the right to know about the working of the government. Thus the government enacted the Right to Information act in 2005 which provides machinery for exercising this fundamental right.

Objective

The objective of the Right to Information (RTI) Online portal is to empower citizens promote accountability and increase transparency in the government.
