Bihar Aadhaar Authentication Framework (BAAF2.0) is an Enterprise Application of Department of Information Technology, Government of Bihar that addresses challenges in identifying genuine beneficiaries for government schemes by leveraging Aadhaar authentication. It aims to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and eliminate fraudulent practices to ensure the direct transfer of benefits to genuine recipients. BAAF2.0 plays a pivotal role in improving the integrity of welfare programs, promoting transparency, accountability, and citizen trust in government service delivery. BAAF2.0 has completed more than 60 crores of authentication to date. DIT, Bihar is among the very few states that have become ASA & AUA both with UIDAI and having Aadhaar Data Vault for encrypted storage of Aadhaar.

Brief Background

It aims to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and eliminate fraudulent practices to ensure the direct transfer of benefits to genuine recipients. BAAF2.0 plays a pivotal role in improving the integrity of welfare programs, promoting transparency, accountability, and citizen trust in government service delivery. BAAF2.0 has completed more than 60 crores of authentication to date. Objective
It enables Aadhaar-based transactions, allowing service providers to authenticate residents identities electronically. The framework employs secure leased line connectivity to UIDAI standards and specifications, enhancing data privacy and efficiency.The BAAF2.0, with the Bihar Aadhaar Data Vault (BADV) as its cornerstone feature, ensures robust data security, compliance with regulations, and efficient management of Aadhaar numbers, contributing to a more secure and trustworthy authentication ecosystem in the state of Bihar.
