Project Details
Brief Background
One Nation One Ration Card Scheme has been implemented w.e.f. 1st November, 2020 in U.T., Chandigarh. Under ONORC scheme the migrant beneficiaries can contact and register themselves under DBT scheme in Chandigarh. To cover the migrant labour(s) working in UT of Chandigarh, survey/ awareness/orientation programmes are being conducted at the construction sites and labour colonies to facilitate the labourers to enroll themselves under this scheme. For which a Helpline No. 14445 has been activated. To cover more eligible migrant workers, awareness camps are being organized at construction sites, railway stations, bus stands, labour colonies, prominent places and at all the distribution centres.

To ensure seamless access to food grains across the country.
Benefits
The ONORC scheme digitises Ration Cards to benefit approximately 81 crore beneficiaries. This helps ensure seamless access to food grains across the country. It allows NFSA beneficiaries, including migrant workers, to claim food grains using their ration card with biometric/Aadhaar authentication.
Implementation Methodology
