MedLEaPR (Medico Legal Examination and Post-Mortem Report System) has been developed for doctors to record their observations in computer as permanet record and produce computerised reports instead of handwritten reports of Medico Legal Examination of patients and/or the Post-Mortems to Police for better understandings
Project Details
Brief Background
During the Hearing of a Case, Hon’ble Judge also asked State’s Health Departments to get a Centralized Software developed for Computerization of Medico Legal Reports & Post Mortem reports. Hon’ble Judge assigned the S/W development responsibility to NIC Haryana State Centre. The software was initiated in Aug’2011 on the orders of Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh.
Objective
To record doctors observations of Medico Legal Examination of patients and/or the Post-Mortems in computer to made available to police department and courts as long lasting permanent record in readable format in stead of handwritten reports.Benefits
Efforts to incorporate the graphical/pictorial representation feature during trial run of textual module
Implementation Methodology
NIC was entrusted the responsibility of development of the software. After development of software in 2012, it was tested and implemented in Chandigarh for users of Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research(PGIMER), Government Medical College and Hospital(GMCH) and Government Multi Specialty Hospital(GMSH) Chandigarh. The trainings of doctors of these hospitals was organised and changes were incorporated in the software on the basis of discussions/feedback received from the doctors.Implementing Agency Details
