Brief Background

The concept of e-Governance has gained prominence across India to make government services accessible, transparent, and efficient. At the district level, however, there were challenges in coordination, monitoring, and delivery of services due to manual processes, lack of transparency, and limited accessibility. To address these issues, the DeGS Portal was developed as part of the Digital India initiative to ensure that government schemes and public services are effectively administered at the district level, thereby bridging the gap between the government and citizens.
