Launched in 2019, Yuva Swabhimaan Yojana was established to address rising unemployment among urban youth in Madhya Pradesh. With a high youth population and limited job opportunities, many young people faced financial and career uncertainties. The scheme was introduced to alleviate these challenges by offering a platform for skill enhancement alongside short-term employment. The Yojana empowers youth by helping them gain experience and financial stability, which could lead to more permanent employment in the future. Objective
- To provide financial support to unemployed urban youth through short-term employment.
- To impart relevant skills that enhance employability and open up future job opportunities.
- To encourage youth self-reliance and boost confidence by providing hands-on work experience.
- To bridge the gap between unskilled youth and potential employers by developing essential skill sets.
- To contribute to the local economy through the active engagement of youth in community-oriented work.

- Financial Stability: The scheme provides a stipend during the work period, helping youth meet immediate financial needs.
- Skill Development: Offers training in areas that can improve job prospects and practical skill sets.
- Work Experience: Youth gain experience that can enhance their resumes and help them transition to full-time employment.

Implementation Methodology
-
Identification and Registration:
Eligible candidates are identified through local urban bodies and registered via an online portal or at designated centers. The eligibility criteria focus on unemployed youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. -
Skill Assessment and Training:
After registration, participants undergo a skill assessment to determine their aptitudes and areas of interest. Based on this assessment, they are provided with training in relevant skills, often in collaboration with local training institutes or government programs. -
Work Assignment and Employment Stipend:
Upon completing training, participants are assigned community-based work within their locality, such as assisting in civic services or public welfare projects. They are employed for a fixed number of days (generally around 100 days) and receive a stipend for this period. -
Mentorship and Skill Tracking:
Throughout the work period, youth are monitored and mentored by assigned supervisors. Regular tracking of skill development and feedback sessions ensure that participants are progressing and gaining practical knowledge in their assigned tasks. -
Evaluation and Certification:
At the end of the employment period, participants are evaluated on their performance and skills acquired. Successful completion of the program earns them a certificate, enhancing their employability in the job market. -
Job Placement Assistance:
After completing the program, youth are provided with placement assistance and guidance on further career options. Partnerships with local businesses and organizations help connect participants to potential employers.
