Brief Background

Sewa Setu, a unified platform under the aegis of the Assam Information Technology, Electronics & Communication and Citizen Service Delivery (AITEC & CSD) Society aims to streamline services and improve accessibility. This transformative initiative will integrate all Government-to-Citizen (G2C), Government-to-Business (G2B), Business-to-Citizen (B2C), and other utility services, offering citizens a seamless and efficient experience.Citizens can avail of these services independently or through Public Facilitation Centers (PFCs) and Common Service Centers (CSCs). 
 
 The Sewa Setu Portal has achieved significant milestones in transforming citizen service delivery in Assam. Since inception, over 640 services from 47 departments and 3 Autonomous Sixth Schedule Councils have been onboarded, handling over 1.5 crore applications with a over 90% disposal rate. The platform has processed over 94, 000 grievances with an 86% resolution rate, alongside over 10,000 appeals with a notable 55% disposal. Major digital initiatives include the integration of over 50 services from Autonomous Councils, Contractor Registration services, Doctors' Registration, educational services from state councils, land settlement under Missions Basundhara and Bwiswmuthi, and key permits like building permissions, property tax, and trade licenses, thus enhancing inclusivity and accessibility across departments.

Objective

The objective of the Sewa Setu initiative is to streamline and improve citizen service delivery by offering a unified, digital platform that integrates services across various government departments and councils. It aims to make essential government services easily accessible to citizens through an efficient, transparent, and user-friendly interface, reducing paperwork and delays. Key goals include enhancing service delivery timelines, promoting accountability, enabling grievance redressal, and fostering inclusivity by bringing services from Autonomous Councils, educational boards, healthcare, and other critical sectors onto a single, easily accessible platform. Through initiatives like automated eligibility notifications and digital document verification, Sewa Setu aims to promote proactive governance and simplify interactions between citizens and the government.
