The department of Animal Husbandry & Fisheries consists of Five Veterinary Government Hospitals and Nine Veterinary Subcentres. The Veterinary Hospital situated at Sector-22 is exclusively for Pet animals. The Veterinary Hospitals located at Manimajra, Hallomajra, Sector-38 west and Milk Colony Dhanas provide treatment to both large and small animals. The department also has a Fish farm adjoining Sukhna lake for production of fish seeds and to maintain of ecology of Sukhna lake. For fishing at Sukhna lake, angling licenses are also issued at the Fish Farm. The Department of Animal Husbandry endeavours to promote scientific practices, to enhance lifetime productivity of livestock. Working on the concept of ?Disease Free Livestock?, the Department provides quality health care services to Livestock population and control & eradicate communicable animal & Zoonotic diseases
