Brief Background
Established under the Societies Registration Act 1860 PeGS was formed to provide a structured framework for the deployment of e-Governance projects in Puducherry. The society functions under the guidance of the Directorate of Information Technology and collaborates with various government departments to promote the adoption of digital solutions.
Objective
The primary objective of PeGS is to facilitate the swift and effective implementation of e-Governance projects thereby enhancing the delivery of government services to citizens through digital means.

The Directorate of Information Technology pronounced as DIT has been created in the year 2002 vide G.O.Ms.No.59 dated 19-07-2002 in order to give fillip to IT related activities in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
