KVK West Kameng was born during the year 2005 under the Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Naharlagun with financial assistance from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) with the proposed site at Zimthung which was later changed to Sangti in the year 2008. The KVK came into action with the recruitment of few fresh staffs on 11th November 2005. Presently the KVK is functioning in a rented house at Bushuthang, Dirang from August 2007, although it was working in the office of Regional Apple Nursery cum Progeny Orchard (RAN), Rungkhung, Dirang from its beginning.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) West Kameng located in Arunachal Pradesh is a district-level agricultural extension center established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Its primary mission is to facilitate the transfer of innovative agricultural technologies from research laboratories directly to farmers fields thereby enhancing productivity and promoting sustainable farming practices.
Objective
1. On-Farm Testing: Conduct location-specific on-farm trials to identify and validate sustainable land-use technologies.2. Front-Line Demonstrations: Implement demonstrations on various crops to generate production data and gather feedback for further refinement.
3. Vocational Training: Offer both short and long-term vocational training programs in agriculture and allied sectors emphasizing a learning by doing approach to boost farm productivity and foster self-employment among farmers and rural youth.
4. Extension Personnel Training: Provide regular training sessions to update extension workers on the latest advancements in agricultural research.
