India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) was setup under the Department of Post, Ministry of Communication with 100% equity owned by Government of India. IPPB has expanded its strength across India covering post offices, through a network of 650 IPPB branches.

Brief Background
Assam Postal Circle consists of 9 Postal Divisions and 2 RMS Divisions. There are 19 Head Post Offices 605 Sub Post Offices and 3383 Branch Post Offices. Covering an area of approximately 784400 sq kilometres and provides postal services to over 30 lakh population and processing approximately 10 lakhs articles per day.
Objective
Making utmost efforts to bring vulnerable sections of the society under Financial Inclusion Umbrella by providing Aadhaar Services (Enrolment and Updation) through 216 Post Office Aadhaar Kendras and providing Postal Life Insurance(PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance(RPLI) services throughout the state of Assam.
